State Rep. Ron Robinson today announced the inclusion of $13.7 million in state funding for critical Macomb County projects in the House-approved budget passed this week.
The funding championed by Robinson focuses on critical infrastructure, workforce development, and public safety improvements in Macomb County.
“It’s been an honor working alongside so many dedicated local leaders to identify key priorities in our community,” said Robinson (R-Utica). “I’m proud to bring those priorities to Lansing and help deliver real results.”
Projects included in the House budget plan are:
• $3,730,000 for water main replacement in the City of Utica
• $8,000,000 for a new construction academy facility in Sterling Heights through the Construction Education Trust
• $2,000,000 for Sterling Relief Drain improvements through Macomb County Public Works
“I’ve had countless conversations with constituents and two issues I keep hearing about are our infrastructure and a need for good jobs,” Robinson said. “The inclusion of these items in the House budget directly addresses both issues. I look forward to keeping the pressure on and fighting for their inclusion in the final budget, but this is a great start.” The House budget plan now moves to the Senate for further consideration as budget negotiations continue.
