State Rep. Mary Whiteford, of Casco Township, today announced House Republicans have unveiled a plan giving the people of Michigan more certainty and control in these challenging times – allowing for data-driven COVID-19 responses that reflect conditions in local communities.

State Rep. Mary Whiteford voted Wednesday in support of a plan to expand broadband access across Michigan’s rural areas. The change comes in tandem with the Legislature’s passage of its state budget proposal, which includes $14.3 million for rural broadband infrastructure.
Rep. Mary Whiteford today said that while federal funding has helped balance the state budget, a safely and fully reopened Michigan economy is needed to protect essential services in the months ahead.
